Fender's most innovative achievement in electric guitars was successfully mass-producing them by assembling the body and neck with just four bolts. The assembly of each part also basically only uses screws of various lengths and sizes. This model-kit-like feeling that appeals to the male psyche may be the essence of Fender. Conversely, if you have a screwdriver, you might be able to see the guitar before it was born. Born from such curiosity, this book disassembles over 20 types of Fender guitars, from historical models like the Telecaster and Stratocaster to standard Jazzmasters and Mustangs, and even beginner models like the Swinger and Bronco, down to the individual screws. It analyzes the structure and parts used in each model, and explores the aesthetics of guitar making contained within.
