* TV Party 5-disc DVD Box Set featuring Basquiat, John Lurie, Art Lindsay, David Byrne, Warhol, David Bowie, etc. Description

A miraculous DVD release! A gathering of New York celebrities from the late 70s to early 80s. A confluence of punk, new wave, hip hop, and graffiti culture, and a parade of historical treasures! The origin of modern culture, the future, and a treasure trove of source material. A legendary weekly variety show that captures the atmosphere of the No NY scene.

【TV Party】 From 1978 to 1982, Glen O'Brien, a darling of the era, hosted a New York cable television show called TV Party. Co-hosted by Blondie's Chris Stein, the show had a unique, guerrilla-style unlike anything seen on television before, with a party format, no script, and a different theme each week. The show featured guests smoking joints, unpredictable guests appearing each week to perform live, discussing politics and the art scene, engaging in raw conversations with viewers over the phone, mocking the establishment and the countryside with dry humor, and embodying what it meant to be cool in New York at the time. While the cast may appear indifferent and nonchalant, this show, which brought together young artists of the time, is overflowing with creative energy that resonates strongly with us today through the screen.

"TV Party: The Documentary" is a digital production by Blink Films and director Danny Vinik (producer of the film "Span"). The content explores the New York art and culture scene, past and present, through interviews with the figures who continue to be trendsetters today, including Glen O'Brien, Deborah Harry (Blondie), Chris Stein (Blondie), Walter Steding (director), Amos Poe (director of photography), Fab Five Freddy (graffiti artist, rapper, star of the film "Wild Style"), interspersed with footage from the original show.

The condition is that only the first episode has been opened, the rest are unopened. This is a very rare and awesome DVD. Thank you for your consideration.
